Bugaboo Fox 2 Review
Before I start yapping about the Bugaboo Fox 3, it only seems befitting that I should mention everything that Fox 2 offers. You deserve to know why this stroller has won the hearts of many and what latest upgrades you will find in the successor of this stroller.
The Fox 2 itself came with two magnificent upgrades to its predecessor. It features a more ergonomic seat reclining position along with a fast-folding mechanism in the form of push button so parents don’t have to spend too much time on an unnecessary task. You will also find additional storage space on this stroller. There is a compartment below the seat where you can easily keep some of your baby’s essentials on the go.
The Bugaboo Fox 2 was designed while keeping maximum convenience for babies and parents in mind for everyday adventures and strolls. The stroller features a high-end canopy with two peek-a-boo windows that deliver ultimate sun coverage and better airflow. I found this stroller ideal for parents who are always on the go. It allowed me to stay connected with my baby even in the world-facing position.
As far as the aesthetic appeal is concerned, I fell in love with how gorgeous this stroller looked right at the first glance. It looks sleek and stylish, available in a number of seat and canopy colors so you can create the ultimate combination yourself. Moreover, the Fox 2 also felt very lightweight. I didn’t have much trouble dragging it on the road nor did I face any difficulty carrying it over on public transport.
Bugaboo made sure to keep the comfort of you and your baby in perspective when designing this incredible stroller. It is made out of high-quality fabrics that feel lightweight and breathable. The internal seating fabric feels very smooth to the skin so your child doesn’t feel any kind of itch while lying in there.
Despite its enigmatic and lightweight construction, the Fox 2 feels very lightweight and has a maximum load capacity of 22lbs. You can use it until your kid is 5-years old so think about it as a long-term investment.
Pros
- Can handle all sorts of terrains
- Folds with a seat on and off
- Lightweight yet robust
- Premium design and quality
- Compact foldability
Cons
- Expensive
- Initial installation can be a bit tricky
Bugaboo Fox 3 Review
Now that you have read all about the Bugaboo Fox 2, it’s time to open the chest and talk about the latest addition in the Fox lineup, the Fox 3. I have to say, considering how convenient Bugaboo Fox 2 was, I had very high expectations of its successor. And lucky for all of us, I wasn’t disappointed even a little bit with this latest stroller. You can say that Fox 3 has all the qualities of Fox 2 and a little more.
First of all, it features a refreshed aesthetic and has a very sleek looking body that I fell in love with the very instant I laid eyes on it. It looks way more stylish than any other stroller on the market. On top of that, the brand infused it with water repellent fabrics that are way plusher and more durable. The fabrics feel soft to the skin so your baby doesn’t have to encounter any rash when in use.
Another worth adding about the fabrics here, is something you have read above, the color options available in the fabric are way more diverse than ever before. You get to choose from soft hues to louder contrasts, something that will go well with all your other baby equipment.
As far as the suspension is concerned, the Fox 3 features large puncture-proof wheels with a separate suspension system on all of them. It also has a center suspension joint that ensures the stroller doesn’t feel bouncy at all and promises a smoother ride. It has a strong and sturdy design, is absolutely recommended for city streets and conveys more of an urban lifestyle.
The upgraded plush fabrics feel very luxurious. The fact that this stroller features water-repellent fabrics ensures that your child doesn’t end up soaked in case rain decides to show up in the middle of your ongoing adventure.
The Bugaboo Fox 3 Stroller features a two-hand fold, something that I didn’t really like. It requires more effort for folding than not busy parents can give. You can also get various accessories with this purchase. Though the assembly may feel a little difficult in the beginning if you have used the Fox 2 before then it won’t be a problem.
Pros
- Extendable hood
- Self-standing folding frame
- Lie-flat seat
- Multi-fold configurations
- Customizable color options
- Excellent resale value
Cons
- Hood canvas blocks the baby’s view
- Very heavy
- Expensive
- Two-handed fold
Bugaboo Fox 3 Vs Fox 2: Feature comparison
I hope both of the detailed reviews mentioned above gave you some idea of how both these strollers work. Where do they lack and where do they offer more potential from the other. Moving ahead, I am going to talk about the features of both these strollers separately so you can have a better understanding of which stroller may work for you more.
Seat
You can recline the Fox 2’s seat in different positions but it cannot lie flat. This will make it a little difficult for the parents to use this stroller for their newborn kids.
The Fox 3 however can lie flat and has 12-reclining positions which makes it safer for newborn babies. You can adjust the seat with the push of a level and keep your baby safe with a soft touch harness. I think the Fox 3 is a winner over here due to its soft touch harness and lie flat reclining position.
Car Seat Compatibility
As far as car seat compatibility is concerned, Fox 2 and 3 are both compatible with car seats. However, the Fox 3 offers multi-fold configurations which means you can fold this baby even when you have attached a car seat to it. It will save you time while making the Fox 3 way more functional and versatile than Fox 2. In this area, Fox 3 is again a winner.
Wheels
The Fox 2 features high-quality wheels with separate suspensions on all of them. However, the Fox 3 comes with upgraded puncture-proof wheels with an all-suspension system along with a separate suspension joint in the center. These features ensure all the babies experience a smoother ride. Both of these strollers are good to go on all types of terrains which is another fact worth noting. However, the fact that Fox 3 features puncture-proof, larger wheels makes it a winner over here.
Canopy
Both of these strollers feature a canopy hood to keep the sun rays at bay while keeping your baby calm. The Bugaboo Fox 3 does feature a more durable hood but the Fox 2 comes with two peek-a-boo windows that promote better airflow and allow your baby to have an open view. It also ensures that you can stay connected to your child while on the road so neither of you doesn’t miss out on each other’s company.
In my perspective, this is where Fox 2 wins. I was pretty surprised to know that Bugaboo didn’t include the same feature on the Fox 3 but what can you say? So yes, as far as the canopy and better airflow are concerned, the Fox 2 wins.
Colors
Last but obviously not least, the Bugaboo Fox 3 is available in a wider range of colors where the seat and canopy are concerned. But the Fox 2 has a very limited number of color variations to choose from. So, in this aspect, the Bugaboo Fox 3 is a sure shot winner.

Bugaboo Fox 2 Vs Fox 3, which one is the winner?
In my experience with both these strollers, they have their own worth but given the added benefits that Fox 3 offers I think it’s a great bang for the buck if you want your stroller to last for a long time. It is way more durable and robust than Fox 2 and also comes with a much sleeker design.
The added features it offers are definitely worth the extra money and you will be thrilled to know how you can color customize it according to your own preference. The only drawback in my opinion was the two-hand folding mechanism. I would’ve loved this stroller even more if it had the one-hand folding like it did in Fox 2. But anyhow, Fox 3 for the win.
