Bugaboo Fox vs Cameleon: An In-Depth Stoller Comparison

As a new parent, buying the best stroller must be at the top of your list. Because let’s be honest, you will end up exhausting yourself without a baby stroller.
When I became a parent, I never contemplated the significance a baby stroller could have over my moving around. I always thought about how hard it will be to carry my baby around from one place to another. But trust me, in the beginning, it was okay, but later on, it became hard, so hard that I would dread stepping out of my house.
In such circumstances, a baby stroller played a massive role for the sake of my sanity. It made it easier for me to go out, enjoy evening strolls, meet my friends and maybe even do some homely chores.
New parents looking for top-notch baby strollers will often come across Bugaboo as a brand. Whether it is a luxury bassinet you’re looking for or the best stroller, the brand has got you covered. It is well known and popular when buying baby equipment, and I love all its products.

Why Do a Bugaboo Comparison?
For most parents, the Bugaboo Cameleon would be the first choice as a stroller because it is finely designed and does more than it can. I also loved how good this stroller looked. The only downside of this model is that it is over $1000, which means not many parents will afford this stroller.
However, we also come bearing good news. The price of this fantastic stroller has now dropped to a whopping $699 because earlier this year, Bugaboo introduced another high-end line of strollers known as the Fox.
It is a luxury stroller with all features of Cameleon. On top of that, it’s been integrated with more features and now bears the price tag of $1000 and above.
Considering that I have always been a fan of Cameleon, I thought it would be an incredible idea to compare the Fox and Cameleon 3. I wanted to assess how good the latest model is, the improvements are, the minuses are, and above all, is the $1000 price tag justified?
So, moving ahead, I will review both of these strollers individually before I can compare their features and declare a winner. Let’s look at the specifications of both models below to understand what Cameleon and Fox possess.

The Bugaboo Fox features a beautiful yet elegant design with a soft fabric that you can customize into your own choice of color. It also comes with a sumptuous carrycot for added convenience so you can easily use this single pushchair in numerous ways. Another thing you should keep in mind before buying the Bugaboo Fox Pushchair is that it is very difficult to assemble. It will take some time for you to put it together. Bugaboo Cameleon 3
It has almost been 15-years since Bugaboo first launched the Cameleon stroller, and I have to tell you, it is by far their most popular pushchair, and for a good reason. It is also why the brand used it as the basis of the Fox and some more upgrades on that model to give Fox a more defining look. However, everything you’re going to see on Bugaboo Cameleon 3 Stroller, you have already seen all of that on Fox.
Just like the Fox, I loved how thoughtfully Cameleon was designed. It has a nice, subtle look that makes it look sleeker and stylish at all times. The brand has used high-quality materials to construct this stroller, which is possibly one of the reasons it is built to last.
The Cameleon also comes with a bassinet that will allow you to use this stroller right from the moment your baby is born until they are a toddler. This stroller doesn’t have one-hand folding and has too many options to personalize like it did on the Fox.
You don’t get the liberty to change the colors of different components on this stroller. But that doesn’t necessarily mean you don’t have any color options because you do. It is also effortless to fold and store since it is folded in two pieces. The folding mechanism also works smoothly, so you will not have to worry about juggling your baby while you’re trying to piece this thing apart.
As far as your baby’s comfort is concerned, they get three recline positions, including the lie-flat option, so when it is time for their nap, your child can sleep on the go. Also, when your baby is done sleeping, you can put them in the seating position and let them watch what is happening all around them.
You will be pretty comfortable using the safety handlebar. However, it doesn’t go as high as in the Fox Pushchair. However, there is a five-point harness that will keep you at peace, knowing your kid is safe. The seat is also removable and can be converted into a car seat, so you will not install one separately.
The stroller is very easy to maneuver, and you will have trouble walking it on even the bumpiest of terrains.
Pros
- Easy to assemble and disassemble
- Suitable to Use From Birth
- Ready to Use out of the Box
- Easy to Maneuver
- Stylish and Sleek Design
- Different Color Options
Cons
- Brake has to be operated by hand and not feet
- It doesn’t have peek-a-boo windows on the canopy
- Not recommended for going into small spaces
Bugaboo Fox Vs Cameleon – Comparing features
Comparing the features of both these strollers below to find out who is the winner,
Bassinet
First, Fox Pushchair and Cameleon 3 Stroller offer 3-reclining positions. It includes the lie-flat feature.
You can quickly turn both of these strollers into bassinets when needed, so there aren’t any differences here. I think this would call a tie between both these strollers since neither of them overshadows the other one.
Car Seat Compatibility
The Cameleon and Bugaboo Fox are both car seat compatible, making them very travel friendly.
But what gives Cameleon an upper hand over here is that it is easy to assemble, whereas the Fox takes hours. The whole process of putting Fox together can be mind-numbing, whereas you can detach the car seat from the Cameleon stroller within minutes.
So it is pretty apparent Cameleon is the winner here.
Canopy
Both of these strollers feature canopies for better airflow and sunray prevention. Both don’t have peekaboo windows, which was a disappointment.
Since Fox is the latest upgrade in this regard, I was kind of hoping that it would have peekaboo windows, but it didn’t. So I guess there is a draw over here between the two strollers.
Price
Last but not least, as you can see, both Cameleon and Fox have virtually the same features and aspects. There aren’t many upgrades worth mentioning except for the color options. I think Cameleon wins if you are okay with a few restricted colors like I was.
It offers the same set of features and the same level of functionality at a lower price point. It is built out of the same components and has the same durability, so yes, I would go for Cameleon as the winner where the price is concerned.

Final Thoughts:
With Bugaboo Fox and Cameleon at your disposal, you have some fantastic options to choose from, and neither one of them will disappoint you. Both are designed and constructed beautifully. And trust me, at first glance, there is not much separating both of these strollers from one another.
This probably won’t come as a surprise to you that Fox was based on Cameleon. It has all the features that Cameleon stands for, but we could not understand the added expense. As you must have noticed above, there isn’t much of a difference between these strollers, so why would you want to pay extra for the Fox?
In my opinion, though Cameleon might be an older model considering the features and price of Fox, I would say the latter is still a better choice. You’re getting the same features in both. As you can see above, during our comparison, there was a tie between these strollers every time.
So yes, in my opinion, Cameleon is the better, more cost-effective option than Bugaboo Fox.
